Some history
At the end of the Second World War, Mr Camille Provincial worked as a shop foreman in one of the most significant bar turning company in the Arve Valley. At the time, everyone manufactured their own cams. Very quickly, Camille Provincial developed a solid reputation on the subject, so much so that many of his machine operator friends called upon him to manufacture and develop their own cam sets.
Consequently in 1955 he had the idea to set up as a “cam maker”, and thus established the company “Provincial”.
Yves Dumont, Manager of Provincial Cames since 1979, is the son-in-law of Camille Provincial. This worthy successor was later joined in 1992 by his two sons, Gilles and Denis who took over the company in 2008.
Nowadays Provincial has varied its offering because in plus cams it proposes all metal sawing, tumbling, chamfering, bar turning etc …
